Bottle of Blues consists of six players who have a mutual goal of creating a memorable musical experience for all who attend their shows. Members Joe Farace (lead guitar and vocals), and Jack Bennett (bass and rhythm guitars and vocals), have had the rare and fortunate opportunity to re-kindle a past friendship, and formed Bottle of Blues with Bill Ryan (drums) in September of 2000.
Completing the band are Mike Ertel (keyboards, bass guitar and vocals), Paul Soroka (saxophone, lyricon, keyboards and vocals) and fronting the group is NOVA (lead vocals and percussion). NOVA draws from Rhythm & Blues, Jazz, Latin and Afro-Cuban musical sources to create her own unique style. We believe the "personality fit" is an important factor in the interpretation of the music we play, and one that comes across to the audience during our shows.
All members of Bottle of Blues have diverse musical backgrounds, with styles ranging from Jazz to Bluegrass and Pop to Swing. Because of this blend of experience, Bottle of Blues provides traditional blues with a twist of non-conventional bluesy arrangements from modern artists such as Sting and Steely Dan.
